DataFort is a completely new service created to provide safe and automatic backup of critical company data to a remote and therefore safe location. Best of all, after the initial set-up, DataFort works completely automatically! The service provides the secure transmission of data over dialup modem, ISDN/DSL or cable modem direct to mirrored disk servers located at the DataFort Centre in Guildford Surrey. Computer files are compressed to minimise space requirements and encrypted prior to transmission using financial grade encryption for security.
A good quality tape unit, the backup tool most frequently used by small companies, costs five times the price of a year of using the DataFort service. (That doesn't begin to include the cost of tapes at £26 a piece.) DataFort is very simple to set up and use; it also checks every backup for accuracy. The data is simultaneously stored on twinned, mirrored servers in two separate locations providing unparalleled levels of data security for SME's. Once stored the customer is safe in the knowledge that, unlike tape, the backup will not degrade over time.
