BUSINESS CONTINUITY - Meet your recovery time objective
We work in a world where competitive companies rely on immediate access to information not only from the office but from home or when in the field as well. The challenge for every business - large or small - is to meet the demand for 24/7/365 access to critical data in the midst of escalating uncertainty.
Businesses can no longer afford to ignore the demands of business continuity planning. Whether your business is facing the challenge of a man-made or natural disaster, you must be prepared to deal with the very real risk of service interruptions.
Ignoring the unexpected is an invitation to disaster
From snow storms and floods to riots or police actions, the consequences of poor planning can be devastating and the long-term effects terminal.
Partner with us to ensure the uninterrupted flow of critical information and the ongoing achievement of your business goals. Our customized solutions deliver a resilient IT infrastructure that will maintain critical connections across your business, no matter what the challenge.
You can't predict the future, but you can prepare for it. The best preparation will mitigate risk by planning for rapid recovery of critical data and critical applications. The key question you need to ask is, how long can your company afford to have critical systems and data unavailable?
Maximum Tolerable Outage
The Maximum Tolerable Outage (MTO) is the amount of time your business could survive should a system or service become unavailable. Access to the Internet, emails or critical databases are all examples of systems for which businesses need to establish MTOs.
Recovery Time Objectives
Once you know the MTO for a system, you can establish the Recovery time objective (RTO) for that system. For example if your business relies on its email server and even a few minutes worth of lost emails could cause considerable damage, you need to look for a business continuity method that provides a very low RTO. If your business will suffer after 1/2 hour without its email server, but you know it will take at least a day to recover your email system your backup tapes, you know that backup tapes are not the appropriate recovery method for your business.
